Innovation thrives in schools when students and teachers feel safe to take risks, fail and try again. Technology can provide the tools for innovation, but when Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is integrated into the curriculum, it sets the stage for each child to truly tap into their creativity. In this session we will work our way through the 8 competencies of the 6 Seconds EQ model. In this model students learn to enhance their emotional literacy, recognize patterns, apply consequential thinking, navigate emotions, engage intrinsic motivation, exercise optimism, increase empathy, and pursue noble goals. I will introduce each competency and then follow with a short activity, discussion or exploration to allow participants to better understand each one.
