Efraín Tovar is a former ELD/Newcomers Teacher/EL Coach at Abraham Lincoln Middle School in Selma, CA. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Information and Technology Services for Selma USD. Efraín has 22 years in education ranging from elementary to university. He is a frequent speaker at local, state, and national conferences, addressing how to utilize technology to meet the linguistical/digital needs of second language learners and their parents. He is the founder of @CAellchat, a global Professional Learning Network for teachers who teach second language learners and the Central Valley Coding Project, whose mission is to provide equitable access to coding opportunities for students and teachers. Efraín currently serves on the Central Valley Computer Using Educators (@CVCUE) Board and in his spare time he partners with local valley schools to provide workshops on how to bridge the digital divide in the Central Valley.
